Centrifuges

Galaxy

Galaxy mini-personal centrifuges are ideal for quick spin-downs, microfiltration and cell separation. Easy to use and quiet, two versions are available, for 6 x 1.5/2ml tubes, or 2 x 8 place PCR strips. Maximum speed is 6000 rpm and they measure just 11 x 14cm so will fit on any bench.

Out of this world

Eppendorf has entered a new dimension for personal centrifuges with its new Minispin® and Minispin Plus® models. Both are high-performance, easy-to-operate 12 (1.5/2.0ml) position models which have been designed especially for researchers. They are extremely compact with easy to use digital displays and maintenance-free drives which accelerate up to a maximum speed of 13,400 rpm in the Minispin® and 14,500rpm in the Minispin Plus®, so quietly you would hardly know they were there.

Hermle Z223

The Z223 M-2 microlitre centrifuge for tubes up to 2.0ml is available in refrigerated or air-cooled versions. The ABS plastic housing is resistant against shock and chemicals. Features include digital display of speed/RCF and running time, automatic imbalance indication with safety switch off, two acceleration and deceleration steps, storage of pre-set values and maintenance free induction motor. The speed may be pre-selected in steps of 250rpm, running time is selectable from 1 min to 60 min in steps of 1 min and a quick key is available for short runs with digital display of elapsed time in seconds.

Hermle Z160M

The Z160M centrifuge from Hermle is supplied with 18 x 1.5/2ml rotor, brushless motor, maintenance free, lid lock system, pre-set running time, 1-30 minutes or continuous, variable speed from 1-14,000 rpm, quick spin buttons, very short acceleration/deceleration, coolroom use possible, low heat generation.
